Director's Desk: Citywire Conference

Last week I enjoyed a midweek trip to the Capital to attend the annual Citywire New Model Adviser conference. For those of you who don’t know, it’s a day and a half packed full of inspirational and engaging talks with various personnel from the industry, (and some great food and wine in the evening).

It was great to listen to fund managers who again emphasised the importance of our investment philosophy – i.e. a multi-asset, low-cost, diversified approach.

Alex Deledge (founder of 2 multi-million pound companies) gave a fun and zero b******* speech on her success and all things business, which has made me more motivated than ever to make sure 7FP provides the best possible service to our clients.

Ex SAS soldier Colin MacLachlan gave a fantastic insight into life in Iraq, Afghanistan & Sierra Leone emphasising a key message of “just don’t give up”, on whatever it may be in life you are facing.

All in all, it was great to engage, learn and listen to some great people.
